This page explains how to delete your Discus account and associated data, in accordance with the requirements of Google Play and Quebec's Law 25, PIPEDA (Canada), GDPR (EU), and CCPA (California).

Method 1 — Deletion from the app (recommended, immediate)
- Open the Discus app on your device
- Log in to your account
- Tap the Profile icon (bottom right or top)
- Scroll down to the Account

Method 2 — Deletion by email (if you no longer have access to the app)

- Confirmation: “I request the complete deletion of my Discus account and all associated data.”
We process email requests within 7 business days maximum. A confirmation will be sent to you once the deletion is completed.
Data that is deleted
When you delete your account, all of the following data is erased from our servers:
- Your profile (name, email, profile picture)
- Your personal vocabulary and learning progress
- The history of your AI conversations
- Your game statistics (points, levels, badges, streaks)
- Your language preferences and settings
- Your detailed usage history
- Your subscription status and subscription history in our database
Data that may be retained (and why)
Certain data is legally required to be retained beyond account deletion:

None of this retained data allows you to be re-identified after the deletion of your main account.
Deadlines
- In-app deletion : immediate (account and data deleted in real time).
- Email deletion : within 7 business days.
- Backup purge : within 30 days.
- Financial data : retained for 7 years as per tax obligation.
Active Premium subscription
If you have an active Premium subscription at the time of deletion:
- Your data is deleted immediately.
- The subscription is not automatically canceled by account deletion.
- To cancel the subscription, go to: Google Play Store → Account → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Discus → Cancel.
- No refunds are issued for the current period already paid (see refund policy).
