Offline
Network drops? We keep the pace.
If you lose the network during a session already loaded, Discus continues to function with the data already cached. Complete offline mode (full language download) is in development.
Key benefits
Offline-first cache
If the network drops during a session, you can complete the exercise with the data already loaded. The banner alerts you when you are offline.
Short trips covered
Subway, elevator, train station — for outages lasting a few minutes, your session continues smoothly.
Automatic reconnection
When the network returns, the app automatically detects and resynchronizes.
Use case
The scenario where degraded mode saves the day — and the one where it’s not enough.
Unexpected network outage
You start a vocabulary session, the network drops. You can finish what you had open without interruption.
Short subway ride
A 10-15 minute trip underground? You come back online before the cache expires.
Flying or long trip? Not yet
For a trip of several hours without a network, the complete download of a language is not ready yet — it's our next product priority.
Frequently asked questions
Does Discus work completely offline?+
Not yet. For a session already started, yes — you can finish the open exercises. For complete offline mode (downloading a language and using it without a network for hours), it's in development.
How much space does the app take?+
About 50 MB + a few MB per active language. Audio is streamed with each listen to keep the app lightweight.
